Condoms? Ethical? So what’s this all about then…
Well if you’re looking to buy some condoms on-line you have come to the right place. Competitive prices, secure browsing, fast and discreet delivery – all this comes as standard when you shop at Ethical Johnny. Our wide range of condoms, lubricants and other accessories will be sure to meet all your sexual health needs. Not only do we stock and sell all the products you would expect from the main brands such as Durex and Pasante, we also have new up-and-coming brands such as Fusion and Monogamy, as well as some great ethical products from French Letter Condoms and One Condoms that you’ll be hard pressed to find elsewhere.
But that’s not all that we’re about here at Ethical Johnny. As our strapline says, our condoms come with a conscience. That’s because we are committed to giving half of our profits every year to organisations that work to prevent the spread of AIDS and other STDs and the suffering that they cause. Different? You bet. Making a difference? We’d like to think so.

Why condoms?
Well here at Ethical Johnny we’ve always loved our condoms and now, thanks to this site and to you our customers, we get to play with them everyday. We’re also old enough to know by now that condoms and other sexual health products are an essential part of daily (…ok, weekly) life for many people. But if you’re anything like us you’ll have noticed that if you don’t want the embarrassment of taking that 12 pack of Durex to the checkout at your local chemist there are not a lot of quality, secure on-line options for you to shop at. Not until now anyway. We’ve designed our site to create a pleasant shopping environment where you can feel comfortable browsing for what you need (we promise there are no pictures of naked people hidden away to embarrass you). We also recognise the need to feel confident when shopping on-line and with our fully secure site you are in safe hands.
Another reason for selling condoms is that we know that good sexual health is really important yet all too often neglected. We think its important to promote good sexual health habits – especially to those who might not have had the benefit of such information before. We want to do what we can to help and have dedicated a specific area of our site to providing useful information about good sexual health practices and helpful sources of further advice.
Finally, our initial research when setting up the site revealed that there is a huge taboo amongst condom users when it comes to recognising that actually (drumroll please) no two men are packing the same equipment. It’s true. We’ve checked. So in a bid to banish ill-fitting condoms once and for all we have put together handy sizing information charts next to each product which give a quick and easy guide to the size of each condom and help you find the product that is right for you. We’ve also included more detailed information on how to work out what will suit you best on our Sizing Information page. Have a look if you’ve had trouble in the past getting the right condom for you.
Why ethical?
Well the real question probably is why not? Its not hard to notice that there are plenty of people around who are less fortunate than we are. But sometimes it seems pretty hard to do anything meaningful about it. We’ve supported good works in the past with a donation here and a sponsored sideburn shaving there (actually true – who’d have thought) but this time we wanted to do something on a bigger scale. There’s a movement going on – live to give – and we want to be part of that.
So what does ethical mean to us? Well our headline message is that we want to use what we have to support those without. Practically that means that we are committed to giving 50% of all our pre-tax profits to organisations that are committed to working for the good of the wider community – and have proven track records in what they do. Our focus for now is on charities that work with AIDS and other STDs. Its not hard to see that this is one of the biggest global challenges right now and we are pleased to know that both our products and our profits are being directly used to make a difference.
And what does ethical mean to you? We know that ethical is one of those words that has different meanings to different people. We’ve said what it means to us but we’d like to know what you think. We don’t want to restrict our “ethics” to what we do with our cash but want it to impact on all areas of the way that we do business so if you’ve got any suggestions of things that we could do better or of other products we should stock then let us know.
We want to be totally open and upfront about what we are doing in this area so here is the “facts and figures” low-down:
- we will donate 50% of our pre-tax profits to organisations that work to relieve the causes and effects of AIDS and other STDs
- we can’t be sure before the end of the year how much this will be as it will obviously vary depending upon how much we sell. But we will let you know when profits have been calculated and/or donations made
- we are not tied to supporting any specific charity or other organisation but look to give our funds wherever we know they will be well used. We’ll keep you posted when we have made donations and will also post some details about organisations we know are doing good work
And that’s what its all about…
So that’s it! We hope you now know a bit more about what were doing here. Please stay in touch and do come back to see what has been going on.
