Lubes
Personal lubricants, or lubes, are a great aid in sex. Whether we want to use a lube to get a bit more lubrication than the woman naturally produces, or to gain that extra something special that modern lubes can provide, there are lubes to suit all tastes. Just some of the extra stimulating varieties of lube include tingling lubes, warming and cooling lubes and flavoured lubes. There are three main types of lubes: Those that are water based, those that are silicon based and those that are oil based. It is important to be aware that only water based lubes and silicone lubes can be used with latex condoms. Oil based lubes break down the latex in the condom and can not therefore be used with them. Some lubes include a spermicide called Nonoxynol 9 however, they do not provide any benefit in preventing the transmission of STI’s and the World Health Organisation recommends against the use of condoms sold including Nonoxynol 9.
